Fetch

Forge 1.20.1 View on CurseForge

Overview

Fetch turns your tamed wolves into interactive companions that fetch thrown items and react emotionally to how you treat them. Toss sticks, bones, or (optionally) rotten flesh and watch your wolf search, pick up, and deliver items back to you — with configurable search radius, carry behavior, and optional visual/audio feedback.

  • Platform: Forge 1.20.1
  • Fetch Radius: Configurable, typically 8–64 blocks
  • Items: Sticks (default), Bones (default), Rotten Flesh (optional)
  • Key Systems: Fetch AI, Healing on Delivery, Happiness, Bonding

Features

  • Gameplay: Realistic fetch mechanics — throw items, wolves search and retrieve, and either drop or hold items until interaction.
  • Items: Support for sticks, bones, and optional rotten flesh; each item can be enabled/disabled in config.
  • Happiness System: Persistent 0–100 happiness per wolf that changes tail position, movement speed, and fetch speed. Happiness increases from feeding and successful deliveries and decreases from being attacked or item breakage.
  • Healing on Delivery: Wolves can automatically consume delivered bones/rotten flesh to recover health (healing values configurable).
  • Bonding & Effects: Low-chance bonding events grant a temporary bond effect (shared damage, special behaviors). Includes Rage and Sadness states for emotional gameplay.
  • Customization: Deep config options — fetch speed multiplier, search radius, keep-stick chance, stick break chance, carry time, particle/sound toggles, and more.
  • Performance: Only tamed wolves are processed; visual/audio features are optional to suit performance needs.

Happiness Changes (Examples)

  • Eating a bone: +15 happiness
  • Delivering an item: +10 happiness
  • Owner attacks wolf: -25 happiness
  • Stick breaks on retrieval: -20 happiness
